Scala Vilagio F.H. Maggini Viola 1610, handmade in Germany by master luthier Florian Hertzsch. The 1610 Maggini viol model is a pretta special viola. The luthiers from Brescia frequently placed the f-holes a little higher compared to the later masters from Cremona. Consequently the position of the bridge is shifted and thus the belly stop is shortened by some millimeters. This can be found here too. Despite of a large 16"" body, this viola plays very comfortably. The 1610 Maggini viol model features full-bodied volume as well as comfortable playability due to a shortened scale length. Spruce top (Picea abies), back, sides and neck made of flamed maple (Acer pseudoplatanus), ebony fingerboard (Diospyros crassiflora), rosewood fittings (Dalbergia latifolia), homemade antiqued amber-based oil-varnish based on the model of Italian masters, a thin layer of laquer enables the tone-woods to swing freely, traces of wear in the pattern of ancient Italian violins, maximum optimization of sound by final adjustment of soundpost and bridge, back length 412mm / 16'', belly stop 212mm, neck stop 141mm, strings: Thomastik Dominant, includes certificate, comes with Jakob Winter Viola Shaped Case 51015 CAB.
